Now that's tempting and I've got the drivers and horns. All I need now is to reinforce the floors for the two upcoming 300Lb boxes.

Why? Even 'floating' floors like mine can handle king size waterbeds.

Loud is Beautiful if it's Clean! As always though, the usual disclaimers apply to this post's contents.
As an example, a typical 2x10 floor joist spaced at 16" o.c. will span 14' safely with 40 psf live load. This equals 745 lbs per joist. If the two speakers sit over two joist spaces you would have 1490 lbs to play with including stereo gear and people.
A king sized water bed is 6' wide, so it spans 4.5, or 5 joists and weighs about 1970 lbs. So, 394 lbs per joist.
When LowOhms is stacking cement blocks on his A7's to mass load them, I wonder if half of the benefit comes from deflecting his floor 3/8"?
Another example; an average adult weights 180 lbs, and requires about 4 sq ft of standing room. If you stack a bunch of people in your living room during a party, you could wind up with 1890 lbs per joist, and if they are all dancing up and down at the same time, you could wind up with all of them in the basement all of a sudden.I thought it was going to happen at one of my Halloween parties once a long time ago.

Yeah, didn't think it through till later.Still, my 30x24" 'footprint' cabs weigh right on up there and have never had any floor problems in the two 'floating' floor rooms they've spent most of their time, though the longest time was spent catercorner in corners. In the first house though, well braced 210 horn sections with added ~3 ft^3 compression chamber and heavy HF horns perched on top, so guessing at least 600 lbs.
Anyway, been wondering why it's taking so much weight to 'critically' damp them, but a 'floating' floor deflection would explain it, though seems like it would take way more than he's used to damp it.
Oh well, this time of night such thoughts make my head ache, so will let it go........ for now anyway.

Opinion is only as valid as its verifiable supporting evidence.
My system is in the basement already and sits on a concrete slab. The reinforcing comment was a vain attempt at a little light hearted humour, which obviously doesn't go a long way here.
We now take you back to the ultra serious world of all things Altec.
Zelgall, sorry if you thought I was referring to you. Not so. Humor is welcome here.
Note: the reply in question has been expunged by me.
